I guess all newsletters have to start somewhere. The “Hello world!” of “Oh my god please someone read my stuff and pay attention to me!”
So this is mine. A brief introduction if you don’t know me:
My name is M.L. Rowan, though a lot of people know me by my screen name Mab. I write… just about everything. Horror, fantasy, scifi, romance… well, I guess I write four things.
As of the time of writing this, I have about a dozen or so drafts in various states of completion across the Big Four Genres That I Write. Some are in the last phases of edits, others are still in early drafts. Either way, if you’re reading this newsletter, you’re at least a little bit interested in what I’m doing. So, once monthly (probably either the first or the fifteenth of each month (oh god I should have figured that out already, shouldn’t I have?)) I’ll send one of these out with status reports and updates on how things are going 🙂
So… I’ll kick us off with this:
HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE WORLDS FIRST VERSUS LITRPG? IT’S CALLED ACOLYTE VS ADJUDICATOR: OURBREAK AND IT’S FUCKING AWESOME.
Or in other words, a labor of love. My coauthor Charris and I have been working on this series for the better part of a year at this point, and it is officially being serialized onto Royal Road as we speak (as I type this? (oh my god im so terrible at writing these)).
As such, it is about where 90% of my effort in writing has gone these last few months. Other projects (Stars Apart, The Tourist) have been on the back burner until we can get a foothold and a steady backlog going. Thankfully—so far things are going well! People are actually reading the story, and people seem to like it! If you’ve not checked it out, please do! I think you might like it :)
But that’s about all I have for this one. Hopefully the next one will be a bit more informative, and hopefully a bit more interesting. Cheers!
